“It is my pleasure to recommend Mike Johnston, the gunsmith behind GunWorx Texas. Mike has helped me in many ways ranging from advice to rebuilding a sig pistol that failed at the range one weekend. After its failure I tried to reassemble the pistol myself and could not get it to function, as it should. Mike examined the pistol and during the process of reassembly noticed that a tiny spring had broken and was no longer the correct length. Both of us checked all available parts sources and we could not locate the part needed for the pistol, which is no longer supported by Sig. Mike was able to order the correct diameter spring wire and manufacture one to replace the broken one. The pistol works reliably well and is once again suitable as an EDC weapon. I was in the Fire Service for over 36 years and retired as Fire Chief after 11 years in that position for the City of Colleyville, Texas.
I obtained Gunsmith Certification through the American Gunsmithing Institute. Currently I am working through the Master Level Gunsmithing Course. Their instructional method is excellent combining Design, Function, and Repair techniques so students will understand all different types of firearms and their nuances.
